Blood Drive at the Vineyards at Aquebogue

THURSDAY, JUNE 11

The Vineyards at Aquebogue will host a blood drive on Thursday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Donors are required to bring donor ID or ID with name and photo. Donors’ temperatures will be taken before donation begins and face coverings are required. For questions concerning medical eligibility, call 1(800)688-0900. 

 

Spirit’s Promise Horse Rescue Virtual Kids Classroom

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17

Spirit’s Promise Horse Rescue in Riverhead will host a free online Zoom classroom for kids every Wednesday until the end of Augusust. The kids classroom will be held from 12 to 12:30 p.m. The kids classroom will take children on virtual tours to see horses, donkeys, pigs, goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens and cows. While on the tour the founder of Spirit’s Promise Horse Rescue Marisa Striano will show how people take care of the animals and the traits that they have. To register for the kids classroom, click here.

 

Virtual Workshop for Local and Sustainable Agriculture on the North Fork

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17

Learn about local and sustainable agriculture for the North Fork area on Wednesday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. Pre-regsitration is required and can be done by email at NOFOsustainableagriculture@gmail.com. A video of the workshop will be posted on the website at a later date. The topics and speakers include Organic Farming on the North Fork presented by Phil Barbato of Biophilia Organic Farm, Biodynamics in Organic Farming presented by Ira Haspel of KK's the FARM, An Introduction to Sustainable Winegrowing presented by Richard Olsen-Harbich.
