10 Hidden Beaches on the North Fork
Luxury Beach Getaway • June 9, 2025
You'll want these all to yourself
The North Fork is a place of pause. While the Hamptons hum with energy, the North Fork whispers—drawing in those who seek privacy, unspoiled views and a quieter kind of beauty. At Luxury Beach Getaway, we guide our guests toward experiences that feel personal. These lesser-known beaches offer room to breathe, uninterrupted moments and a sense of discovery that can’t be found in a crowd.
1. Bailie Beach Park, Mattituck
Set high above the Sound, this bluff-top beach is often overlooked. The shore stretches wide with driftwood and dunes. On most days, you’ll have it nearly to yourself.
2. Truman’s Beach, East Marion
A small, pebbled beach just off Route 25. It’s easy to miss, which is exactly why you’ll love it. The water is clear, the views are wide and the pace is wonderfully slow.
3. Nassau Point Beach, Cutchogue
Located at the tip of Nassau Point, this quiet bay beach is known for calm water and soft sand. It’s ideal for an early swim or a late-afternoon nap in the shade.
4. Klipp Park (Gull Pond Beach), Greenport
With gentle waves and a grassy approach, this tucked-away beach offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for families or solo sunseekers. Bring a book, leave the schedule.
5. Kenney’s Beach, Southold
Just off a winding road near the heart of town, Kenney’s Beach is an easygoing place to swim, walk or simply sit and listen. There’s something comforting about its simplicity.
6. Goldsmith’s Inlet, Peconic
A rare find. The inlet connects to a broad stretch of Sound-side beach. Here, shallow currents meet quiet coves. It’s a lovely spot for nature walks or barefoot exploration.
7. Orient Beach State Park (the unmarked cove)
Venture beyond the designated beach and walk along the shoreline trail. Around a bend, you’ll find a hidden crescent of sand bordered by trees and still water. Few ever go that far.
8. Town Beach, Southold
A locals’ favorite. The long stretch of shoreline is ideal for morning strolls or an evening glass of wine. It’s low-key, unfussy and often blissfully empty.
9. Cedar Beach, Southold
Waves roll in gently over polished pebbles. There are tidal pools at low tide and some of the best sunset views in the region. Bring a blanket and stay through dusk.
10. Norman E. Klipp Marine Park, Greenport
Don’t let the name fool you. Beyond the marina, there’s a peaceful beach with soft sand and a view of Shelter Island. It’s a quiet place to unwind just a short drive from town.
Let the Beach Come to You
Many of these beaches are steps from our Luxury Beach Getaway vacation rentals. Others are a scenic drive through quiet roads and vineyard-lined hills. We’ll help you find the right one for the kind of day you have in mind. Need a beach setup or local picnic delivery? Just ask.
Here are three great examples:
This newly renovated ranch-style home features a large 9ft deep saltwater pool, hot tub, covered patio with gas grill. Tucked along the North Fork and located on a serene cul de sac, you're a short drive away from Breakwater Beach.
This Southold beach cottage has a charming allure. You can enjoy access to Goldsmith Inlet Beach or Peconic Sound Shores beach, where you can take in the most incredible sunsets!
Situated in East Marion, this home backs up to the lavender farm, Lavender by the Bay, and is a short walk to the Association beach. Guests will enjoy access to the private Gardiners Bay Estates Association, including its exclusive beachfront—reserved solely for Association members and their guests.

It's finally that time of year again! Spring is in the air, and summer is just around the corner. That means it's time to start preparing your rental property for peak season. We’ve rounded up a few tips for our homeowners detailing how you can ensure guests have a memorable stay and return again and again. Spring Cleaning There is the age-old saying that the spring season is the perfect time for a little bit of spring cleaning. This is especially true when managing your vacation rental — and just in time for Spring Break. Take time to go through what items you no longer need and get rid of the clutter. Spring break is all about excitement and movement, so having extra items around will only get in the way of your guests. Need assistance? No worries! Our professional cleaning crew would be happy to ensure your home is in tip-top shape for the upcoming season. Ask us about our special deep cleaning for spring and kick off the high season on the right foot. Maintenance One of the most important things you can do to prepare your property for the upcoming spring and summer seasons is to make sure it's clean and well-maintained. Travelers want to feel like they're on vacation from the moment they arrive, and that means staying in a clean and comfortable home. Think about who will be maintaining your property’s appearance when you’re away. Services like lawn care, hot tubs, and pool maintenance are critical. If you haven’t already, you’ll want to find reliable help to take care of these for the season. You’ll also want to make sure you thoroughly fix any broken fixtures or appliances. Check your dishwashers, laundry machines, and so on. And don’t forget to take a look at the walls. Is a paint touch-up needed? Guests don’t want to see wear and tear when they’re in search of peace and relaxation. As your property manager, we’ll take a look and offer recommendations to guarantee great reviews and guests who want to return time and time again. Furniture and Supplies Before the guests start flooding in again, it's also important to update your furniture and supply stockpile. This will help give your beach house a fresh, new look that travelers will love. Are your outdoor cushions in good condition? Are towels crisp and clean? What about those linens? These are just some of the questions you’ll want to ask yourself. You don't want to be caught without any of the essentials when guests arrive. So ditch those tired, old flat pillows, replace chipped or mismatched dishes, and stock up on supplies like toiletries, towels, bedding, and kitchenware. As your trusted vacation rental manager, we’re here to help you navigate the upcoming busy spring and summer seasons. If you have any questions or need assistance preparing your home, we’re here to help.

GQ highlights why the North Fork is a must-visit destination, from its thriving wine scene to its laid-back coastal vibes. “The Hamptons in the summer is like Midtown Manhattan on New Year’s Eve …But there’s another kind of summer weekend out there, and it’s not that far off. Actually, exactly as far as the Hamptons: just two-and-a-half hours’ drive from Manhattan, Long Island’s less-travelled North Fork (the Hamptons makes up the South Fork) has become the cooler peninsula. At various times dubbed the Hamptons’ “country cousin” and the “Brooklyn of Long Island,” it’s known by the easy-going locals as NoFo. Chill holidaymakers are drawn to the former farmland’s waterfront wineries, tucked-away beaches, boutiquey design stores and roadside farm stands. Even with a slew of upscale new openings, the North Fork has managed to maintain a vibe that’s unapologetically relaxed…” Click here to read the entire article by Rebecca Dolan Credit: GQ Magazine, February 2023
